  • Dry Skin Moisturizers with SPF

    Dry Skin Moisturizers with SPF

Everyone uses face moisturizers, but not all moisturizers are created equally. Many do not give you the protection you need. So, today we are looking at the best moisturizers with SPF protection!

The “best” face moisturizer for one person might be the worst for someone else.  It is important to know your own specific skin type before you buy anything to put on, especially on your face. Best practice would most likely be applying high quality face moisturizer and a high quality SPF lotion separate from one another, but for time’s sake, these moisturizers have the SPF already in them to save you time in your routine.

The Best Oil-Free Moisturizer With SPF

Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture With SPF35 Sunscreen:

If you are one with predominately oily skin, this product might be one to check out.  People that use oil based moisturizers on already oily skin could end up with unwanted breakouts.  They also have a SPF 70 version of this product, for those of you who need extra protection.  Best to use this product right after you get done washing your face. This will leave your skin very soft, clear, and free from redness. Excellent product much more reasonably priced than others on the market.

The Best Moisturizer With SPF for Sensitive Skin

Olay Complete Daily Defense All Day Moisturizer With Sunscreen SPF30 Sensitive Skin:

You probably have sensitive skin if you found this article in the first place. If you do, finally, a 30 SPF sun lotion with moisturizer that does not smell, does not make your eyes sting and does not make your mouth taste like suntan lotion.

The Best Illuminating Moisturizer With SPF

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Facial Moisturizer With Broad Spectrum SPF 30:

This one is a great all around daily moisturizer. It controls oily skin and it has very little specks of shimmer (don’t worry, you can barely see it) that make your skin look flawless. There is a slight herbal scent, but you can’t smell it after a minute or so. It works great under makeup because it isn’t oily.

The Best Brightening Moisturizer With SPF

RoC Multi Correxion 5 In 1 Anti-Aging Daily Face Moisturizer for Skin Discoloration SPF 30:

If you are like the majority of us, I am sure you have tried many other creams for lightening spots, but this product really works well on lightening those brown spots. It’s very lightweight but hydrates perfectly. If this one works for you and your skin, they also have a night cream that can enhance the effects.

The Best Tinted Moisturizer With SPF

Paula’s Choice Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 Tinted Matte Moisturizer:

This one is very easy to apply and has a bit of a sheer tint to it.  It won’t necessarily make you look darker, it just won’t look like you’re wearing regular white sunscreen. It never leaves you too greasy, it makes your skin feel and look like your skin. It won’t leave you oily at all and it absorbs really fast. You can even apply regular moisturizer underneath from time to time during the winter, and it still won’t let your skin get greasy or shiny. For very oily, acne-prone skin, when using this product, your skin’s oil production slows down. This one doesn’t let your face get shiny too fast at all.

The Best Longwear Moisturizer With SPF

La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense 24-Hour Face Moisturizer With Hyaluronic Acid SPF 20:

Do you still find that you get dry patches when using other moisturizers? This one is an impressive one if you typically have predominately dry skin. This one will keep your makeup looking fresh and hydrated. If you are looking for moisturizer that feels like it’s working and leaves your skin looking healthy without all the grease, this one might be the one for you.

The Best SPF Moisturizer With Added Ceramides

CeraVe AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30:

This one definately has some of the best ingredients out of any expensive face cream or moisturizer. you have other ones to do ‘extra’ stuff when you need it, but this is the best everyday one for a lot of CeraVe belivers. The ingredients have hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and niacinamides, which are awesome for your skin, and if you look at more expensive creams, they usually only boast ONE of those three…this lotion has three in one! It is light but holds moisture in, and will not break you out. This has the potential to work better for you than some expensive moisturizer (including Korean skin care) because it is so simple.

The Best SPF Moisturizer With Retinol

Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle Deep Wrinkle Daily Moisturizer With Retinol SPF 20:

Use this cream under your eyes, between eyebrows, around the mouth and nose, and on your neck. Put the cream on after a shower once a day, rarely skipping a day. You will notice you have to use it for quite a while, but it will do amazing things. The skin tone under your eyes will have gained so much elasticity, you will be blown away, to tell you the truth. You never expected such a good outcome because you have used other products and they simply did not live up to what they said their products would do, but … you will notice without any doubt that this product has vastly improved the condition of your skin where you applied the cream, especially under your eyes. Previous customers told us they have considered some type of under-eyelid surgery or acid peel because they hated how many fine wrinkles they had under my eyes, but this product has smoothed those out and made them look so much younger. You will be so happy that you got it and used it so often for this long, it was worth the wait.

The Best Moisturizer With SPF 50+

Replenix Antioxidant Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 50:

This sunscreen triples as a moisturizer, tint, and sunscreen — and your skin will look improved after using it for a few weeks, due to the other antioxidants and good stuff in it. These products are superior for sensitive, aging skin, especially if you tend to break out. The moisturizer is pleasant, clean, and easy to use — and reasonably priced given the great quality in each product.

  • Best Joint Pain Remedies

    Best Joint Pain Remedies

More than 50 million people in the United States are affected by arthritis, and up to 67 million are expected to be diagnosed by the year 2030. Arthritis pain can be downright incapacitating if it gets intense enough.

Wrists and joints ache and you feel as though nothing can make you feel normal. Every joint can be affected, but most often hands, wrists, knees, and feet are affected.
When not properly treated, arthritis can be damaging to many aspects of people’s lives, causing all kinds of physical and emotional issues stemming from chronic pain and the loss of mobility. There has been much research into arthritis remedies for those suffering with aching joints. Here are a few you can try.

    Top Arthritis Remedies

    1-Enbrel

Etanercept (Enbrel) is effective in treating rheumatoid arthritis. It is a prescription only injection that has been proven to stop joint pain, and prevent joint damage. It has many side effects, despite its effectiveness. Contact your physician for more information.

    2-NSAIDs

Two non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, ibuprofen and naproxen are available without a prescription, and are quite effective at treating arthritis pain. Aspirin, the proptype of this class, is still used quite commonly in treating arthritic pain. Avoid upset stomach by taking these medications with food.

    3-Over the Counter Rubs

There are a wide array of creams and ointments available without a prescription that are effective in alleviating pain and inflammation due to arthritis. Look for ingredients like menthol, camphor, and methyl salicylate when choosing a product.

    4-Ginger

Ginger is quite effective at treating and preventing arthritic pain. It is available in many forms including the root which can be chewed, cooked, or used in teas.
    5-Black Seed Oil

A teaspoonful a day is helpful in treating arthritis. Black seed oil has many other uses.

    6-Hot and Cold Therapy

Hot and cold therapy can do wonders for aching joints from arthritis. Taking a nice, long and hot bath or shower in the morning can do aching joints wonders. Alternatively, using electric blankets or heating pads can help to relax stiff joints.

On the other hand ice therapy can be used to alleviate intense pain rapidly. Ice packs wrapped in towels and applied to sore joints can provide fast relief. Follow this cold treatment with a bit of heat treatment for relief from joint pain!

    7-Turmeric
Consider adding turmeric to your diet in higher quantities. This root plant is a known anti-inflammatory and has been used as a natural remedy for hundreds of years. You can add it to dishes easily, as it is a common spice. It tastes really good, too! While it’s not a cure-all, you might find it helps to alleviate symptoms of joint pain.

The anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric could result in your joints and tendons feeling some relief from your arthritis symptoms. This is a great way to attempt to tackle your symptoms from several angles.

Because, at the very worst, it’ll just add some spice to your dishes!

    8-Cocoa/Chocolate
Did you know that cocoa provides an abundant source of phytochemicals? You might not know much about phytochemicals, but this odd ingredient means cocoa is an antioxidant – and antioxidants are known to help with cardiovascular health, brain function, and cancer prevention. If you have RA, consuming cocoa (yes, even in the form of chocolate) can also benefit your immune system.

Chocolate, specifically dark chocolate, can significantly reduce inflammation throughout the body. Cocoa properties are known to decrease COX-2 enzymes that cause inflammation, meaning every bite of dark chocolate helps decrease what’s causing your aches and pains.

When you consume chocolate, it triggers the release of serotonin in the brain – or what many people call “the happiness chemical.” Serotonin literally changes your mindset, releasing happiness and lifting your mood.

Suffering from the symptoms of RA can have a devastating impact on your well-being. However, treating yourself with dark chocolate can help combat both a bad mood and a little of your pain. Enjoying dark chocolate (in moderation, of course) is enough to lift up your spirits, even if just for a moment.

    9-Acupuncture
The use of acupuncture for treating pain is a bit contentious. However, many patients claim that their chronic pain symptoms are greatly alleviated by acupuncture. Consider visiting a specialist for a consultation and a quote! They might be able to help you.

In short, acupuncture is a practice that uses select placement of needles to attempt to manipulate the body’s pain receptors. Some practitioners ascribe the benefits of acupuncture to the manipulation of chi flow in the patient. Chi is an energy force that many Eastern traditions believe flows through all living things, though scientific examination has shown no evidence of such a force.

Those patients who have had acupuncture treatments have had varying responses, though many claim that the procedures have helped them manage their arthritis pain.

    10-Massage
Along those same lines, you could consider visiting a massage therapist. They could use massage techniques to help relax your muscles and loosen stiff joints. Alternatively, you could work with a physical therapist to learn techniques of self-massage if it would be difficult to see a professional regularly.

    11-Exercise
Make sure you get lots of exercise! Simply staying active can work wonders on aching or stiff joints. Make sure you walk often and don’t spend all day indoors. If you find walking to be too high-impact, consider hitting the pool. Getting some light swimming in is a great way to work your joints, tendons and muscles without putting a lot of stress on them. Staying limber and exercising often is a great way to directly tackle arthritis symptoms.
Try a combination of these arthritis remedies and hopefully they will alleviate your symptoms!

    Infant Formula Review

Parents these days are under tremendous pressure to do “everything right” for their children, yet there are thousands of differing opinions on what and how to define “right”, especially when it comes to feeding your baby. The saying are endless, “Breast is best”, “EBF” (Exclusively Breast Fed), Organic only, but the opinion creators forget that babies do not follow a “one-size fits all” approach to eating, and what works for one child may not work for the other, even if they have the same parents. The most important thing to remember is to do what supports the health and well being of your baby which can mean breastfeeding, formula feeding or a combination of both. Selecting the right breast pump, formal and even bottle or pacifier, can be an equally unique experience and just because one system works for your friend does not mean it will work for you or your baby. Breastfeeding has many benefits for baby, but can be challenging for some moms so having the right tool – your trusty breast pump is important. Making the decision on what you want and need can seem daunting, but it breaks down into two simple categories:

    1. Type of pump
    2. Brand of pump

    Types of Pumps
    * Hospital-grade breast pumps: These are considered the “mecca” of breast pumps, but are often hard to come by. These heavy-duty pumps offer a power-filled motor for extra quick production. They extract milk quickly and are generally fairly quiet, but they can be bulky and less portable than many of the commercial grade options. Hospital-grade pumps can sometimes be rented, but if you are looking to purchase one, it can be very costly, upwards of $1,000. Hence why they are not as common.
    * Electric breast pumps: The most common and popular, the electric breast pump is efficient, portable and adjustable on speed. The down side, they do require electricity and some can be a bit noisy. Many come with a carrying case and are typically double pumps with the option to make it singular.
    * Wearable electric breast pumps: Popular for the mom on the go, the hands-free portable pump is set up so you can wear them directly over your breast and often discreetly. While they are technically hands-free, it can be cumbersome to attempt to work or do other activities, while wearing the pump.
    * Manual breast pumps: The pumping action is created when you squeeze the pump with your own hand. The lack of motor makes these quiet and very convenient. While they take longer to produce a full feedings worth of milk, they are very handy to have them around. They are great choice for working moms or those who love to travel and can’t always find a plug. The inexpensive costs makes it an attractive supplement to an electric breast pump.

    Top producers of pumps:

  • Best Migraine Treatment

    Best Migraine Treatment

Are migraines taking over your life?

If you suffer from migraines, it is important to identify the triggers that cause the migraine. Here are some of the most common triggers and treatments for chronic migraines.

    Triggers:

    1. Specific Foods: Heavily Processed foods, Alcohol, Refined sugar and caffeine (or the lack of) are some common dietary culprits. Keeping a food and drink diary for a week can help understanding of potential patterns between your diet and migraines.
    2. Stress: There are many different approaches to reducing stress.  Remedies including meditation, essential oils and listening to calming music are worth exploring.
    3. Light sensitivity: is one of the most commonly reported symptoms of migraine sufferers. Extended exposure to harsh lighting can further exacerbate mild headache symptoms. If you feel a migraine coming on it’s a good idea to take a break from staring at computer or phone screens.

    Remedies:

    1. Stay Hydrated: Many headaches are caused by dehydration.  Keep a reusable bottle for water with you during the day. This will allow you to drink water when you’re thirsty and help to keep you hydrated throughout the day.
    2. Triptans: Triptans are medications that combat extreme migraine symptoms. Triptans work primarily by constricting blood vessels and blocking the brain’s pain receptors. Those at risk for heart attacks and strokes are urged to not take triptans.
    3. Botox:  Botox has proven successful for relief for migraines in many cases.  The FDA has only approved Botox for those suffering from chronic migraines. What does this mean? You must have 15 or more days of headaches each month. You must also be 18 years or older
    4. Reduce your Stress: Sources of stress vary for each person. A bit of introspection on what causes stress in your life may be useful to help with your migraines.

    An Overview of Hearing Loss

Hearing loss due to aging is a common condition that impacts many older adults. Almost 1 in 2 adults over age 65 experience some degree of hearing loss. Age-related hearing loss is also known as presbycusis. Hearing loss can affect anyone at any age and the statistics according to the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders are astonishing. On top of that, the average delay between the time someone is affected by hearing loss and when they finally seek treatment is a long 7 years. Lucky for you, you have come to the right place to learn about hearing loss. Let’s look at the 7 Signs of Hearing Loss.

    Two Types of Hearing Loss
    1. Sensorineural
Sensorineural hearing loss is the most common type of hearing loss. It is permanent and caused either by damage to tiny hair-like cells in the inner ear or to the auditory nerve. The auditory nerve carries important information about the loudness, pitch, and meaning of sounds to the brain.
    2. Conductive
Conductive hearing loss is caused by a mechanical problem in the outer or middle ear or an obstruction in the ear canal such as ear wax that blocks sound from getting to the eardrum. It can be permanent but more often, it is temporary and can be medically treated. Mixed hearing loss results when there are components of both sensorineural and conductive hearing loss present.

    7 Signs of Hearing Loss

    1. Words Begin to Drop from Conversations
Increasing difficulty with understanding other people, especially in noisy environments such as crowded shopping malls or loud parties, may reveal a declining ability to distinguish speech from noise. It’s common for people to respond to this problem by asking for speakers to repeat themselves, to speak more loudly, or to slow down. Television and radio speech may also seem to fade into unintelligible gibberish. Conversations in general seem to lose their color and vibrancy.

    2. Becomes Increasingly Difficult to Have ‘Normal’ Social Situations
Without quite realizing why, a person suffering from creeping hearing loss may increasingly retreat from social situations. They somehow seem too difficult, often leading to awkward moments when a critical point is missed, or a joke is misheard. It begins to seem as if plunging into even a crowd of longtime friends or close business associates results in nothing but inexplicable, growing social isolation.

    3. People Sound Like They Are Mumbling
Other people may seem to slowly acquire a bad habit of failing to clearly enunciate their words. Consonants disappear into the mist as vowels rudely strut to the fore. This perception often indicates a loss of the ability to clearly hear higher-frequency or softer sounds such as sibilants. Similarly, snakes lose their hisses, clock alarms ditch their high-pitched beeps, and machine clicks such as those from automobile turn signals seemingly disappear.

    4.Tinnitus (Random Non-Existant Noises)
Unexplained sounds such as buzzing, ringing, or clicking in one or both of your ears could very well indicate a significant medical problem that requires professional attention. Long-term exposure to loud sounds such as unmuffled gunshots, blaring rock-music concerts, and clanging industrial machinery can produce persistent, sometimes permanent tinnitus. Sinus and ear infections, hormonal changes in women, and common reactions to many medications can result in temporary or persistent tinnitus.

    5. It Becomes Increasingly More Difficult To Hear Children and Womens’ Voices
Females and children generally have higher, softer voices than adult males, which means communication with children and grandchildren may be one of the first victims of encroaching hearing loss. For a devoted parent or grandparent, this can be devastating. A spouse may begin to drift away from a significant other because ordinary conversations have become oddly difficult. A similar problem may arise with failing to understand strongly accented voices as their tonal edges seem to gradually disappear.

    6. Turning Up The Volume On All Devices
Routine annoyance with strangely soft audio levels from televisions, smartphones, and other audio devices may instead constitute a barely noticed symptom of gradual hearing loss. A growing habit of cranking up the sound to unusually high levels often signifies that it’s time to seek professional testing for hearing problems.

    7. Loss of Richness in Sounds
Regardless of their volume or nature, sounds from all sources seem to grow muffled and flat. Birdsong becomes simpler and less nuanced, and human voices seem to abandon their ordinary tonal ranges. Long-loved musical performances and songs grow dull and uninteresting. Even ordinary noises like hammering from construction projects and the roar of motor vehicles seem to devolve into dull cartoon versions of their former selves. Such an evolution from complexity into lifeless simplicity is oddly easy to overlook if it happens slowly enough.

    The Final Thought
While hearing loss before 55 is rare, the ratio is 1:2 in those older then 55. Hearing aids can be rather expensive, but may be covered by your part B Medicare plan. Original Medicare and most Medicare Supplement (or Medigap) Plans don’t cover hearing aids, routine hearing exams, or fittings for hearing aids. This means that without other insurance, you could pay 100% of the cost for routine hearing exams, fittings, and hearing aids.

Medicare Part B does, however, cover diagnostic hearing tests that your doctor orders for a medical need like a recent hearing loss due to illness or injury. If your doctor orders a diagnostic hearing test. You would pay 20% of the amount approved by Medicare, plus the Medicare Part B deductible.

Visiting an audiologist is usually the first response to possible hearing loss. If necessary, an otolaryngologist — an ear, nose, and throat specialist — can conduct a thorough examination to uncover underlying medical issues. Treatment might include simple removal of excessive earwax, antibiotics for a sinus infection, or even small, unobtrusive hearing aids that can reclaim much of your lost sound. Only your medical professional can provide comprehensive information on possible causes and treatments.

These meals are healthy, tasty, easy to make, and maybe best of all, you don’t have to wait for inspiration to strike and then battle the crowds at the grocery store. With home meal kits, you just go online and browse the latest recipe ideas, and they come straight to your door ready for you to put together. So this leads to the question, which one? We have reviewed the Top 5 Meal Delivery Services.

    Purple Carrot

Purple Carrot runs on plant power. If you don’t eat animal products or are lactose intolerant, you’re in luck. Every single dish from Purple Carrot is not only vegetarian, but vegan, too. But don’t worry, we’re not talking boring grilled veggies here. This box features seasonal produce, herbs, and creative sauces that keep things interesting. Each week, Purple Carrot chefs create a new selection of plant-based dishes like cauliflower l’orange and coffee teriyaki skewers. In addition to being healthy and tasty, Purple Carrot encourages users to appreciate the way that eating plant-based meals instead of ones containing meat is environmentally friendly, cutting down on water use and emissions. In addition to the individual plan serving one to two people there is also a family plan returning that makes two meals for three to four people, and a “performance” plan that ups the protein content of each meal, and is gluten-free.

    Blue Apron

They’re the OG of meal delivery services.  Most of Blue Apron’s recipes are pretty easy, making the company a good choice for beginner cooks.  Instead of spending all night at the grocery store or in the kitchen, Blue Apron delivers pre-measured ingredients for simple recipes straight to your door. Meals start at just $9.99 per serving and you can choose the two-person plan, This comes with two or three meals per week or the family plan which comes with up to four meals per week. Also for those of use that like a nice glass of wine to to compliment this 5 star gourmet dinner you just prepared check out the company’s wine delivery options.

Blue Apron never fails to take you out of your comfort zone. The most impressive thing was that out of the dozens of meals I made, there were only one or two dinners that I’d never make again. Another perk is that they love condiments as much as I do. Many of the recipes require you to whip up different sauces or au jus for dipping.

Though there are generally a few choices for your three weekly meals, this isn’t the best option for those with dietary restrictions, as they really only offer a regular and vegetarian option. And even though the meals won’t take forever cook, you’ll still spend a decent amount of time in the kitchen—somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 minutes. If you use cooking as a way to decompress and chill out after a long day, you are in luck. Blue Apron never fails to take you out of your comfort zone. The most impressive thing was that out of the dozens of meals I made, there were only one or two dinners that you would never make again.

Plated is also flexible – the company will allow you skip weeks, switch recipes and cancel anytime. There is a great range of recipes—from an elevated grilled cheese to stuffed roasted squash to pumpkin rigatoni—that reflect the current season. It’s also great they have a two meal a week option. One drawback though – the company doesn’t offer specifically vegan options

  • Seasonal Allergies: Best Treatments And Prevention

Seasonal Allergies: Best Treatments And Prevention

    What Are Seasonal Allergies?

Fall means that millions of Americans will suffer runny nose, congestion, sneezing, watery, itchy eyes and other symptoms of what we refer to as seasonal allergies, or hayfever. It is caused by pollens from trees, flowers, and grasses, like ragweed, in the spring and fall.

Here are a few of the more common medicinal and natural remedies for seasonal allergies:

    Antihistamines

Antihistamines block production of histamine, the agent responsible for your symptoms, and are effective in treating and preventing seasonal allergies.

Benadryl is a powerful antihistamine and drying agent that is still the ‘gold standard’ in treating seasonal allergies, but due to its high degree of sedation many people avoid it.

Fexofenadine (Allegra), cetirizine (Zyrtec), and loratidine (Claritin) are also available without a prescription, with the advantages of once daily dosing, and they are non-drowsy.

    Topical Steroids

Fluticasone (Flonase) is a topical steroid that is available without a prescription, and is sprayed in the nostrils. It is very effective at preventing allergies.

    Natural Remedies

Locally grown honey can help you boost your immune system in fighting allergy symptoms, and is a powerful cough suppressant.

Apple cider vinegar has many uses, including fighting symptoms of seasonal allergies. The dose is usually one teaspoonful daily.

Get started before symptoms of seasonal allergies occur.

  • Type 2 Diabetes: Causes and Symptoms

Type 2 Diabetes: Causes and Symptoms

As American lifestyles have changed, occurrences of type 2, or late onset, diabetes have become more common. Today we’ll be looking at some of the most common causes of type 2 diabetes, its symptoms, and treatments that are designed to manage the condition. If you feel as though you may have diabetes, speak to your doctor for a full test.

    Type 2 Diabetes

    What is Type 2 Diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic condition that refers to the way that your body processes (or doesn’t process) sugar. Diabetes is caused by your body’s own resistance to insulin, a compound meant to help your cells process glucose. Occasionally, the condition occurs when the body doesn’t produce enough insulin on its own.

While type 2 diabetes was once referred to as “adult-onset” diabetes, this is no longer an accurate description, as children can be diagnosed with the condition as well. This is likely due to changing lifestyles in the developed world, such as the rise in childhood obesity and poor diets among some children and families.

    Symptoms

Symptoms of diabetes include increased thirst, increased hunger, fatigue, unintentional weight loss, slow healing of wounds, blurry vision and frequent infections. If you suffer from some of these symptoms, it could be wise to visit your doctor to do some tests and see if you’re suffering from diabetes.

    Contrast to Type 1

Type 2 diabetes is contrasted with type 1 diabetes, which is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. In type 1 cases, the culprit of the symptoms is the pancreas: the pancreas fails to produce the correct levels of insulin in type 1 patients, due to auto-immune cells destroying important beta cells in the pancreas.

Type 1 was once known as “juvenile onset” diabetes, but this is also inaccurate. There are currently more adults diagnosed with type 1 diabetes than children. Type 1 diabetes, however, is much less common than type 2: only between five and ten percent of all cases of diabetes are type 1.

    Genetics

The most common factors in the onset of type 2 diabetes are lifestyle and genetic predisposition. One of the biggest things we’ve learned in recent years about type 2 diabetes is that you can inherit a high likelihood of developing the condition from your parents.

This doesn’t mean that if your mom or dad had type 2 diabetes that you’re guaranteed to develop it, it just means that you’ll be at a higher likelihood of doing so based on your lifestyle. This makes lifestyle incredibly important for people with a genetic predisposition to the disease.

    Diet and Exercise

From a lifestyle standpoint, the biggest cause of diabetes comes from diet and exercise. A lack of meaningful exercise is often connected to the onset of type 2 diabetes, and people with a genetic predisposition are more likely to develop the condition if they don’t work out often.

Diet is just as important as exercise, too: people with high-fat, high-sugar diets that are more overweight are more likely to develop diabetes. Notably, diets that are too low in fiber are some of the most common diets among people who develop type 2 diabetes.

    Treatments

There’s no cure for diabetes. People living with the condition simply have to make a number of lifestyle changes to accommodate their symptoms. For instance, it’s common for sufferers to have insulin pumps to help manage their body’s insulin levels. Monitoring their blood sugar levels is very important, as well.

Diet and exercise can be important factors in managing the condition, as well. While nothing can fully cure diabetes, being in good physical shape and eating healthy foods make managing diabetes symptoms significantly easier.

  • Is BodySculpting for you?

    Is BodySculpting for you?

Dieting and doing a lot of exercise has often been viewed as the best way to try and improve your appearance. These traditional methods, though tedious and onerous, are the do-to choices for most of us. However, due to the numerous technological developments that have deluged the world over the years, many methods have been developed that help change the body shape.

It is popular to use non-invasive devices along with diet and exercise to achieve this goal through body contouring. Relatively nascent to the world, many of things entail body contouring. Consequently, before you engage in any type of body sculpting technique, it is essential that you understand everything it entails.

    What exactly is body sculpting?

Body sculpting, or body contouring, is the use of technology and technological advancements to provide the safest and fastest way through which you can change the shape of your body. The icing on the cake is that when it comes to body contouring, you have a variety of options to choose from. The method to choose depends on your preference, though all body contouring techniques have some benefits over the others.

This article aims to provide you with everything you need to know about the different types of body sculpting techniques available, from the benefits to the costs, so that you can make an informed decision.

    Skin tightening radio frequency

Loose skin is something that exercising and dieting cannot rectify. Exercising and dieting may actually lead to the development of loose skin. This is because, even though you may be able to lose some weight after exercising, the elastin fibers in your skin may already have been stretched and damaged. Consequently, you end up with lots of loose skin, with no particular way of getting rid of it. That is until now.

Skin tightening radio frequency is a nonsurgical way through which loose and lax skin can be tightened promptly and efficiently. Though this technology is fairly nascent, it has received lots of raging reviews due to its efficiency, efficacy, and quick recovery time.

The modus operandi of the procedure is simple. By using energy waves, the deepest part of your skin is stimulated to produce a protein known as collagen. Collagen is the most common protein in the human body, and it is essential in making sure that your skin remains firm. It is due to a lack of collagen that skin becomes loose and lax. Thus, by stimulating its formation, skin tightening radio frequency improves the condition of your skin.

    Benefits

Numerous benefits come with skin tightening technology. Obviously, the main one is that you will have tighter skin. Notwithstanding, there are other benefits associated with skin tightening radio frequency.

    They include:

    • Face contouring: It is common to find that loose skin is concentrated around the face and neck. Consequently, skin tightening radio frequency ascertains that the facial laxity will improve tremendously, thus improving your facial contouring.
    • Getting rid of wrinkles: The skin’s collagen deficiency is responsible for the formation of wrinkles. Therefore, since skin radio frequency makes sure that the skin has enough collagen, wrinkles and fine lines will disappear.

    Drawbacks

The drawbacks associated with skin tightening are mild and rare. The most common side effects include mild redness for a couple of hours after the procedure and temporary swelling. You may also feel a tingling sensation.

Several options are available when it comes to skin tightening. Ulithera and Thermage have been in the market for a couple of years, and you will find numerous testimonials of their efficiency on the internet. Elixis, on the other hand, is fairly new to the market, but it has been making waves and has a lot of benefits. Regardless of the technique, you find most suitable, you can be assured that you will be pleased with the results.

    Costs

Skin tightening is quite affordable. You may need a couple of sessions for the procedure to be complete, with each session costing about 200 dollars. Consequently, for the entire process, you will need between 800 dollars and 1000 dollars. The number of sessions you will need may vary, and so the overall price may fluctuate a bit.

    Temperature-based fat reduction

Even with exercising and dieting, there are certain types of fat that cannot be removed that easily. These stubborn fats require some other method for them to be completely eradicated. Enter temperature-based fat reduction. Technology has been able to provide us with the means by which we can melt or freeze fat away, thus making sure that you achieve the body shape that you have been looking for.

As a body sculpting technique, temperature-based fat reduction comes with two options, either melting the fat or freezing the fat.

    CoolSculpting

As the name would suggest, CoolSculpting entails the used of controlled cooling to eradicate the excess fat you want to get rid of. The said cooling freezes the fat cells in the region, which is commonly the stomach, inner thighs, or upper arms.

As a consequence of the freezing, the fats cells die, and the body naturally rids itself. This method of temperature-based fat reduction has become popular, mainly because of its efficiency. This is because CoolSculpting is a permanent solution to excessive fat because new fat cells cannot replace the ones that have been frozen.

    SculpSure

The second temperature-based technique is known as SculpSure, it works parallel to CoolSculpting, though the results are often the same.

SculpSure entails the use of laser heat for body contouring. Essentially, the laser heat dissolves the fat cells in the region you would like to reduce fat. During the treatment, the device applies the said laser heat in intervals.

    Benefits

There is a myriad of benefits that come with temperature-based fat reduction.

    • Time: The first one is the speed through which the techniques work. For SculpSure, you only need about 25 minutes for the process to be over. This means that you will be more than able to resume your daily routine as soon as the session is over.
    • It is non-intrusive: Since both treatments are non-intrusive, no anesthetic is required. Additionally, no incisions have to be made for the process to begin. Consequently, these procedures will leave you with no scars whatsoever.
    • Appropriate for everyone: Except for expectant mothers, these procedures can be used on almost everyone else. Thus, everyone that would want to lose excess weight can do so.

    Side effects

There aren’t a lot of side effects when it comes to temperature-based fat reduction. Some of the most common drawbacks are some mild conditions you experience after the procedure is complete. They include slight swelling, blistering, and bruising.

Notwithstanding, there are some rare severe side effects. They include scaring, subcutaneous fat loss, skin indentations, and burns.

    Cost

The costs for the two procedures vary a bit. For CoolSculpting, you will have to part with anywhere between 2,000 dollars and 4,000 dollars. SculpSure is a bit more expensive, and it will cost you between 1,000 dollars and 1,500 dollars.

    Exilis

Exilis Ultra 360 is an FDA approved device that combines ultrasound and radio frequency to tighten loose skin and address fine lines and other body concerns. The device uses controlled heating and cooling to ensure that energy is delivered to different depths of the tissue. With the use of five different applicator tips, the device can treat different areas of the body.

    Benefits

The benefits of treating sagging, loose skin with Exilis Ultra 360 include:

    • It is a quick, non-invasive, non-surgical treatment – Exilis Ultra 360 is designed to stimulate the body’s natural elastin remodeling and collagen production.
    • Painless treatment – You will not experience any discomfort during treatment.
    • Can be used on any area of the body. It can eliminate mild to moderate sagging on various skin types.
    • Results start to show after about two treatments and can last up to one year or longer.

    Drawbacks

    • Results can vary from person to person.
    • There is a concern about radiofrequencies being carcinogenic.
    • Some individuals can experience side effects in the form of skin redness, tenderness, and swelling.
    • It can be fatal if an inexperienced provider conducts it.

    Cost

The prices of Exilis differ from one city to the other and from one provider to the other. The cost also depends on the part of the body a person wants to treat. Nonetheless, the majority of providers charge $350 and higher for a body part.

    Muscle enhancement

The gym is considered the most appropriate place to do to make your muscles increase in size. However, contrary to the knowledge of many, different people have different genetic make-up. Thus, for some, it may prove to be an arduous, almost impossible task to try and get their muscles to show.

As is the case with numerous other genetic quandaries, technology has provided a remedy. Muscle enhancement is a tried a tested way through which you can increase the size of your muscles. As a result, this body contouring technique has gotten a lot more popular over the year.

    Emsculpt

Emsculpt is a body contouring technique that ensures that the fat in your body is burnt will simultaneously increasing the size of your muscles. All this is actually done while you lay down. The procedure is so effective that the muscle gains you attain after a simple twenty minutes session are equivalent to doing tens of thousands of sit-ups. It is no wonder that many people have developed a preference for it.

    How it works

The functionality of the procedure is as easy as it can possibly be. A rubber pad is placed on the target area, say the thigh muscles or the abs. This pad produces intense electromagnetic waves. Consequently, these electromagnetic waves cause contractions on the target muscles.

It is these muscular contractions that are responsible for the breaking down of the excessive fats. Additionally, they are responsible for the increase in muscular strength and tone.

Since a thirty-minute process is similar to doing 20,000 sit-ups, it is only fair that you will feel the same soreness you would expect to feel after a regular strenuous workout.

    Benefits

    • Muscle increase:The most impressive benefit this process gives is its incredible muscle-building ability. It is incredibly astonishing the amount of muscular gains you can achieve after a short session. According to research conducted by the company, the product is able to increase muscle mass by sixteen percent, while simultaneously reducing the size of the waistline by a whopping nineteen percent.
    • Fat reduction:A bonus to the increase in muscle size is the fat reduction that comes with the procedure. As a result of the said muscular contractions, your body can burn the excess fat, as would a normal workout regimen.

    Downside

As a result of its nascent nature, no side effects have been brought forward concerning the procedure. Notwithstanding, doctors are hesitant about the long-term effects such strenuous exercises could have on internal organs.

    Cost

Four sessions of Emsculpt will cost you about 1,000 dollars. In the future, you should follow up on the progress you’ve made with additional sessions.

    Liposuction

Liposuction is, without a doubt, one of the more popular methods of body sculpting, simply because it is a tried and tested method through which you can remove the unwanted fat in your body.

Of all the other methods, as mentioned earlier, liposuction is the most invasive method of body contouring you will find in the market. Since it is more medical than all the other techniques, an anesthetic is used. Hence, you will not feel pain during the actual procedure. However, you may feel pain after it is complete.

    Benefits

    • One of the most significant benefits when it comes to liposuction is the fact that it is a healthy, effective, and efficient way through which you will be able to get rid of the excessive fat in your body. You will be able to lose between two and five pounds of weight after the procedure.
    • It treats other conditions
    • Liposuction has been known to be a remedy for numerous other maladies chief amongst them is gynecomastia, which is the accumulation of fat beneath a man’s breast.

    Risks

The risks associated with liposuctions are more compared to the other procedures, mainly because liposuction is invasive, while the others are not. There is a myriad of risks associated with the procedure. Some of them can happen during the actual procedure, while others are associated with the time after the procedure.

    • During the procedure: Since an anesthetic is being used, some anesthetic complications may arise. Additionally, you may be at risk of developing nerve damage or even going into shock.
    • Immediately after the process: Blood clots may form in the lungs. Additionally, fluid may accumulate in the lungs, hence resulting in breathing complications. You may also develop heart and kidney problems after the procedure.
    • Risks while recovering: You may develop numbness, soreness, or swelling while recovering from the procedure. The area where the procedure took place may also develop infections, or scars. Changes in skin sensation and color have also been noted, though they occur rarely.

    Costs

Since liposuction is a medical procedure, there are a lot of factors that influence its cost. Medical services such as anesthetic will play a huge role in determining the cost. The average cost of liposuction is about 3,550 dollars, but it may vary.

    Conclusion

Body sculpting techniques can help you to enhance the appearance of your body. With these techniques, you can eliminate stubborn fat, loose skin, and make your body appear more toned. Body contouring comes in various styles and is ideal for different parts of your body. Compare different body sculpting techniques to determine which one is right for you.
